A Igreja do Rosário era localizada no centro de Viçosa, foi demolida no início da década de 1960. O motivo, aparente, foi a reurbanização da cidade de Viçosa iniciada na década de 1950, o que levou a demolição da Igreja e das casas que à ladeavam dando origem à, hoje, conhecida como Praça do Rosário.
