A caixa beneficente foi constituída com intuito inicial de auxiliar os operários da construção das principais edificações da Esav, posteriormente contribuiu com desenvolvimento cultural e educacional de funcionários e seus familiares, tais com manutenção de escola noturna para alfabetizar crianças e adultos, banda de música, saúde etc.
